With the new solution from AIRIT, Økernsenteret has achieved:
Fewer unnecessary call-outs
City Security sees the situation in the camera image before they drive.
Faster location of alarms
The map is linked to the right camera, so the guard sees at once where the alarm applies.
Control of the roof and stairwell
Speakers by the stairs and on the roof let the guard intervene directly.
Real-time alerts during the day
Operations get an app alert about people in restricted zones while they are on site.
Where they started
A shopping centre has many zones to keep an eye on: entrances, common areas, the roof and technical rooms. The guard capacity to cover them in person is limited.
- 1
Call-outs in the dark
The security company responded to alarms without knowing what was actually waiting for them on site.
- 2
No alert about loitering
Operations had no good way to be told about people in places they should not be, such as the roof.
- 3
Cameras and guarding kept apart
The cameras and the guarding routines were not connected, so the images were not used when an alarm went off.
What we did
AIRIT connected Økernsenteret’s existing cameras to the Avigilon Alta cloud platform with a cloud connector. The centre did not have to replace cameras that already worked, and got new functionality on top of them.
Alarm transfer with camera verification
On critical alarms, City Security checks the camera image before responding. The guard knows what is waiting instead of driving blind to every alarm.
Map and camera in one interface
When an alarm is triggered, the guard sees at once which camera and which point in the centre it concerns, not just that “something” has happened somewhere.
Speakers at exposed points
Placed by the stairs up to the roof and on the roof itself, to intervene directly where unwanted access happens most often.
Separate alarms for loitering during the day
Operations are alerted directly in the app when someone is in a place they should not be, while they are in the building, not only outside opening hours.
Motion sensors in restricted zones
In areas where people should not move about, the sensors send an alarm through Alta Video straight to the alarm centre, with no staffed camera room required.
